Junior Auxiliary of Taney County (JATC) members and their volunteers were at their stations rain or shine and set the “tournament record” at the recent Big Cedar Legends of Golf Tournament, according to Prom Catering.

JATC members, together with their spouses, relatives and friends along with volunteers from Pointe Royale, Ledgestone, and Payne Stewart golf courses, totaling 50 volunteers in all, kept smiling through rain delays, heat in the tent, grilling and clean-up duties.

The JATC Volunteer Coordinator for the tournament, Barbara Dixon, received a congratulatory email from Prom Catering acknowledging that JATC made the "tournament record", collectively working 67 - 6 hour shifts, totaling 402 hours from June 4th - 8th.

They provided food and drinks to the spectators and attendees at the tournament. Prom Catering provides these services at large golf tournaments all over theUnited States, so JATC feels honored to have received that recognition.

JATC welcomed the opportunity to earn a portion of the proceeds by volunteering at the event.  The money they raised goes toward supporting a variety of service projects such as College Readiness, scholarships, prom dresses for girls in need, stuffed animals for children in the local hospitals, Santa’s Gift House, mentoring for young women, and support to the Women’s Crisis Center.  Their slogan is Care Today – Character Tomorrow.

JATC, a local chapter of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Inc. (NAJA), has been making a difference since 1998. NAJA is a nonprofit corporation based inGreenville,Mississippi, with 101 chapters in 8 states and more than 14,430 members. NAJA encourages its members to render charitable services that are beneficial to the general public, with particular emphasis on children, and to cooperate with other organizations performing similar services.  They are currently recruiting new members.
